Their leader, Larraq, is determined to deliver a mysterious crate to this base and is willing to commandeer Moya from "Captain" Crichton to travel the last leg of his journey.

Aeryn & Chiana pose as Crichton's subordinates while D'Argo, Zhaan, and Rygel pretend to be prisoners. While Aeryn tries to glean more information from Larraq, Rygel and Chiana's curiosity get the best of them and they open the PK's crate.

In doing so, they release an intelligent virus onto Moya that is virtually undetectable and, in its current "single infection stage," could take complete possession of another organism. But if this parasite is allowed to gestate in a single host for even an arn, it could lay several million spores and exponentially seize control of a whole galaxy.

Larraq and Thonn, the commandos' second-in-command, are forced to accept help from Crichton's "prisoners" in order to find and contain the virus. But, with no way to trace the actual parasite, everyone becames a potential host and a potential threat.
